Asian Forest Scorpions are large, heavy-bodied scorpions known for their glossy black appearance, powerful claws and impressive size as adults. Despite looking intimidating, Heterometrus generally rely much more heavily on their pincers than their sting and are straightforward to care for when provided with deep, moisture-retentive substrate and secure hides.
They're excellent display animals, especially after dark when they become more active and begin exploring their enclosure.
