Liphistius sp. "Red" - Red Armored Trapdoor Spider
Approx. 0.33" spiderling, sold individually in a vial. Liphistius belong to one of the most ancient surviving lineages of spiders and retain the distinctive segmented abdominal plates that immediately set them apart from tarantulas and most other modern spiders. This form develops attractive reddish coloration and constructs a silk-lined burrow with a camouflaged trapdoor, waiting below the entrance for prey to cross the surrounding trip lines.
