Pelinobius muticus - King Baboon
Approx. 0.75" spiderling, sold individually in a vial. The King Baboon is a large, heavy-bodied East African fossorial species that spends much of their time deep underground in an extensive burrow system. They grow into an impressive rust-brown tarantula with thick legs, a powerful build and a reputation for being highly defensive when disturbed.
They aren't a display species in the traditional sense, but for keepers who enjoy fossorial behavior and watching a spider engineer an enclosure from the ground up, they're one of the classics.
