Phormictopus atrichomatus - Red Island Birdeater
Approx. 0.75" spiderling, sold individually in a vial. This Caribbean terrestrial is a fast-growing, heavy-bodied species with a strong feeding response and the kind of bold presence Phormictopus are known for. As they mature, they develop rich reddish and bronze tones that make them especially striking under good lighting.
They're hardy and fairly straightforward to care for, but they can be quick and defensive when disturbed, so they're a better fit for someone comfortable working with larger, more energetic terrestrial tarantulas.
