Warmiru lagunas - Peruvian Blue Tarantula
Confirmed adult female. Formerly known as Thrixopelma lagunas, this uncommon Peruvian terrestrial is an attractive blue-toned species that remains considerably less common in the hobby than most of the familiar South American terrestrials.
They're a fairly robust, burrowing tarantula that appreciates plenty of substrate and a secure retreat. They can be quick when disturbed but are generally more interested in getting back underground than standing their ground. For someone looking for an unusual established South American female rather than another species seen on every vendor table, this is a particularly nice animal.
This species was transferred from Thrixopelma to the newly established genus Warmiru in 2025.
